Plastic Free Products for Your Kitchen, Laundry & Bathroom

Using plastic free products has never been more important than now!  But it’s not just the products themselves which need to be plastic free – it’s their packaging too!  At TIGS&BOO we take our role as an ethical and organic product retailer seriously.  That’s why we only sell plastic free products which are zero waste in every way!

Why Switch to Using Only Plastic Free Products?

As the world has become more aware of the digital and carbon footprints we leave behind, so have we of our plastic footprint too.  In today’s society of buy and use once, then throw away, we’re creating an enormous plastic footprint which is causing havoc to our planet, and its inhabitants.

With minimal plastic recycling plants and more plastic being thrown away daily, we’re running out of time and space to deal with the mess many people are leaving behind.  However, the movement towards using only plastic free products is growing and with it comes the desire to learn more about how to live plastic free.

How to Live Plastic Free

Living plastic free doesn’t have to be hard, but it does require thought and planning.  First up, if you can, refuse to buy products with plastic packaging.  This is only ever thrown away.  Say no to plastic bags, use a stainless steel drink bottle and take a reusable coffee mug for your takeaway coffee!  Here are ten other tips to help you go zero waste:

  1. Carry your own plastic containers for takeaways or meat

  2. Use beech and vegetable fibre bristle dish brushes

  3. Avoid using chewing gum – its got plastic in it!

  4. Take your own reusable produce bags to the supermarket

  5. Use compostable bamboo toothbrushes

  6. Use natural cleaning clothes, not plastic sponges

  7. Wash with homemade washing powder or soap nuts

  8. Swap plastic shampoo bottles for shampoo soap bars

  9. Use beeswax wraps instead of plastic wraps

  10. Switch to steel straws instead of plastic
